Medical Cloud Backup for Ontario Clinics

Nightly, encrypted, off-site backups that stay in Canada, and restores we actually test.

The problem

Most clinics find out their backup failed on the day they need it.

A USB drive in the server room, a backup job nobody checks, or a copy that sits in the same building as the server. When ransomware, a dead drive or a flood hits, those backups go with it, or turn out never to have worked. If you don't have an IT company watching, nobody notices until the schedule and patient charts are gone.

How it works

Three steps, then it just runs.

  1. 01

    We set it up.

We connect your clinic data to an encrypted backup stored in Canada.

  2. 02

    It runs every night.

A fresh copy goes off-site each night, out of the building and away from your network.

  3. 03

    We test the restore.

We regularly restore your data to prove the backup works, and tell you it passed.

What's covered

Built around your practice software.

We back up the clinic data on your server and workstations, including your practice software data where it is stored on site. Not sure about your setup? A backup check will tell you.

Restore tests

A backup is only real if it restores.

A restore test means we take a backup and actually bring the data back, checking that the files and your practice software database open and are complete. It's the difference between hoping you have a backup and knowing you do.

Who it's for

Small clinics with records worth protecting.

Walk-in and family practices, optometrists with imaging archives, and physiotherapy clinics with scanned intake forms all hold information they can't recreate. A failed drive, a stolen laptop or ransomware on one front-desk PC shouldn't put those records at risk. Our backup covers clinics across Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Vaughan and Toronto.

Backup works best alongside managed IT and staff security training. For the checks to run when your EMR misbehaves, see our EMR troubleshooting guide.

Medical cloud backup: frequently asked questions

Where is my clinic's data stored?

In Canada. Your backups stay in Canada.

Is the backup encrypted?

Yes. Your data is encrypted.

How often does it back up?

Every night, to an off-site location, so a copy is always outside your clinic.

How do I know the backup actually works?

We test restores, bringing data back from the backup to confirm it's complete and usable.

Does it work with my practice software?

Book a backup check and we'll confirm exactly what your setup needs covered.

Our EMR is in the cloud. Do we still need a backup?

Ask your EMR vendor how they back up and export your data. Scanned documents, email and files saved on clinic computers still need their own backup.

Is a USB drive in the office enough?

Not on its own. A drive kept in the clinic can be lost, stolen or encrypted by ransomware along with everything else. Keep an encrypted off-site copy as well.
